Opening a Medication Assistant Certification Endorsement (MACE) Training Program

Before you decide whether to apply to open a medication assistant certification endorsement (MACE) training program, review the requirements for opening and operating a MACE training program in WAC Chapter 246-841A.

Then, use these five key steps to apply to WABONEducation@doh.wa.gov:

1. Attend online required orientation prior to submitting your application 
2. Complete the required program application and personnel applications
3. Use the required MACE common curriculum framework to complete the required application attachments.     
4. Obtain verification of approval from your co-approving agency
5. Send all documents as one complete application to WABONEducation@doh.wa.gov  

WABON staff will review your application materials as quickly as possible. They will contact you if they have questions for clarification or need additional materials.

The WABON’s Nursing Assistant Program Approval Panel (NAPAP) will provide the final review and decision regarding your program application. The NAPAP meets on the 2nd Monday of each month and requires materials for review one week in advance of their meetings.
