The Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) adopted emergency rules in response to the stresses placed on the health care system related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28 and 20-32, were extended through May 31, 2020. The emergency rules and proclamations apply to regulatory requirements for LPNs, RNs, and ARNPs, and remove specific barriers to entry or re-entry into the workforce. The NCQAC seeks to fulfill its mission to protect the public by increasing the nursing workforce while maintaining standards of preparation, practice, and conduct.
