We are seeking an LPN to join the Nursing Commission

The Office of the Governor is recruiting the following member for the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC):

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

If you are interested in protecting the public’s health and safety by regulating the competency and quality of licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioners and nursing technicians, you are encouraged to apply for a commission seat.

The Nursing Commission needs candidates with diverse backgrounds and geographic representation.  The Governor looks for people to study the issues and make decisions in the best interest of the public. 

The Nursing Commission meets six times a year, usually on the second Friday in January, March, May, July, September, and November.  The Nursing Commission’s legislative mandate is to protect the health and safety of the public.

As a member on the Nursing Commission, you can serve an integral role in ensuring consistent standards of practice, continuing competency mechanisms and discipline, along with monitoring and enforcement of education and licensing of practicing nurses in Washington state.

Nursing members must have been licensed to practice nursing in Washington with at least three years of experience and be a Washington State Resident.
