Kim has been the Director for Nursing Programs at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA since 2015. Kim currently oversees the Nursing Assistant, Associate Degree in Nursing and RN-BSN programs at the College. She will soon be starting a new LPN to BSN program in 2023. Prior to her position as the Director, Kim served as a tenure nursing faculty member at CBC for 18 years. She has also held positions as a Registered Nurse in Bremerton, WA, Moscow, ID, and Kennewick, WA. She held an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license and worked in urgent care for several years before moving back to teaching full time. Kim holds a BSN and Master’s in Nursing from Washington State University and a PhD in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Her area of research and interest is in the transition from practice to academia.
