The Washington State Legislature has requested the Department of Health (department) consider a Sunrise Review application under chapter 18.120 RCW on a proposal to change the scope of practice for psychologists regarding prescriptive authority. It has asked for our assessment of whether the proposal meets the sunrise criteria for expanding a health profession’s scope of practice.

- Information on the process we are using to conduct this review, as well as the criteria the department must consider in making recommendations on this proposal.
The department is requesting your comments on the proposal to help draft our recommendations to the legislature. Please email your comments to sunrise@doh.wa.gov by midnight, June 17, 2020. We will provide another opportunity for comments after we have a draft report ready.
