Governor Inslee recently requested that the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) process all nursing applications in 24 hours during the COVID-19 emergency. Since accomplishing this task would require additional staff, NCQAC requested approval to hire 25 full-time employees. Within one week of the approval, NCQAC recruited, interviewed, and hired the needed staff with the coordination and collaboration of DOH IT, Human Resources, and Facilities. The new staff started on Friday, April 3, and are now trained and working towards full productivity. We anticipate approaching the governor’s request of processing application in 24 hours by April 17.
