The Washington Board of Nursing (WABON) is adopting emergency rules in response to the stresses placed on the healthcare system related to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In conjunction with Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-32, the emergency rules apply to regulatory requirements for LPNs, RNs, and ARNPs, and remove specific barriers to entry or re-entry into the workforce. The WABON seeks to fulfill its mission to protect the public by increasing the nursing workforce while maintaining standards of preparation, practice, and conduct.
