It is within the scope of practice of an appropriately trained and competent licensed practical nurse to assist in performing an endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy. The licensed practical nurse may assist an authorized provider or the registered nurse in performing these procedures following clinical practice standards.
