We've made some updates to the Provider Credential Search (PCS):

  • In accordance with SHB 1255nurses who have graduated from the Washington Health Professional Services (WHPS) program will no longer be included on the PCSThe Washington State Department of Health presents this information as a service to the public. This site provides true and correct copies of legal disciplinary actions taken after July 1998, unless prohibited by law. These records are considered certified by the Department of Health.
     
  • For employers interested in verifying multistate licensed nurses, this is now a link on the PCS to the board's website regarding primary source verification. If you follow the link, you'll find information on how to verify a multistate licensed (MSL) nurse via Nursys.com
     
  • Additional note for employers in verifying education for multistate licensed nursesEmployers should be aware that educational program requirements are not reviewed by the WABON for nurses with multistate licenses issued outside of Washington. Some employers may desire to review educational transcripts or other program materials prior to hiring nurses if there are concerns about meeting requirements. The list of schools that are under active investigation are posted on the WABON website however employers may request additional information as desired.
